Hello! I am a passionate educator with 32 years of experience teaching grades K-5. My journey began in Florida, where I earned my bachelor's and master's degrees, and took me to Seattle, where I devoted three decades to nurturing young minds. Life's twists and turns led my daughter and I to embrace a life filled with adventure and learning, from traveling the world to settling on a horse farm in Lovettsville, Virginia. My daughter's equestrian journey has taken her to exciting places. She is now a working student living on her trainer's farm, caring for many horses. She attends a virtual school and comes home a few days a week to study and play. She's in 11th and has goals to take her horse to college and continue to ride.
Though recently retired, my passion for teaching remains strong. Developing Reading for Life is my way of continuing to inspire young readers from wherever I am. I'm excited to share this journey with my new parents and students, helping young readers discover the joy of reading and its endless possibilities.
Below is a cover letter I wrote when my daughter and I arrived, sight unseen, to Virginia. I did get that job and remained for five years. My students call me, Mr. Jeffrey!
